One game added to late penalty
Actions resulted from an incident near the end of the Latvia-Slovakia game on April 17.
Latvian forward Rudolfs Builis will miss the first game of his team’s relegation-round series on Thursday against Belarus.
In the game two days ago against Slovakia, Builis received a five-minute major for checking to the head and neck as well as an automatic game misconduct. The incident occurred with 1:10 remaining in a game the Slovaks won, 4-0.
A video review of the incident by the Directorate Chairman confirmed that supplementary discipline to Builis would be appropriate. As a result, the player has received an additional suspension of one game.
Builis will be eligible to return for game two of the relegation series on Friday.
